Does anyone have a (relatively) recently accuring story in which they got accepted to a far reach school and they honestly didn't think they would? I'm talking low GPA and SAT (for the school, meaning) and no hooks. Maybe you had excellent teacher recommendations, essays, and EC's but I'm talking mainly grades and "hooks" (like, if you invented something, have 1,000 volunteer hours, or traveled to a 3rd world country and gave them electricity, you don't count). I want to go to Notre Dame but the #'s are clearly against me (especially with SAT's. They're good scores but not good enough). Thanks everyone in advance!

What if there are? Then what? Does that sate your nervousness? No one can say your chances are similar to some anecdote someone drops here.

Your remedy is to be fully vested in creating a full list of target schools. Include ND but just don’t count on it whatsoever. There’s dream. There’s hoping. There is fantasy. Then there is planning.
