I thought it'd be nice to hear about people who applied to reach schools, have been told that they had no chance, but were ultimately accepted.

Good way to calm us senior's nerves..

A friend of mine got accepted to Cornell’s Hospitality School ED.

He had a 1980 SAT, 3.48 GPA, and a rank of 48/360ish

Was that person hooked or something?

What about people who are were “average” applicants?

Asian male- stanford, 1880 SAT
White female - princeton, 1750 SAT

Yeah my friend is technically 1/8th Native American so I guess that’s a pretty solid hook.

How did those two get into Princeton and Stanford?

Me! I had a 2050 SAT, pretty average grades and a less than stellar essay but I still got into NYU’s business school - which believe me, being an indian, isn’t easy!
