Is there anyone who either attends or attended willing to post how they liked the school?
Were the girls kind to each other? How competitive/cut throat were they with each other?

What did you like about attending an all girls school?

Why did you choose Miss Porters vs any other all girls school?

I don’t know if your still interested in MPS, but I just graduated from there and absolutely loved the school. I got so many opportunities- academically, athletically, and in the arts that I wouldn’t have gotten anywhere else. I was initially worried about attending an all girls school because of the cattiness I encountered in Middle school. However, I found that there were fewer mean girls at Porter’s than at the coed schools. The community is really tight and everyone looks out for everyone else. I loved walking to class and knowing everyone’s name. People went out of their way to be kind to classmates and friends and are just generally supportive and caring. Porter’s is competitive but not in a cut throat way. Its all healthy competition and at the end of the day, no one really cares that their friend got a better grade than them on the science test. Its really all self motivated competition.

I liked attending an all girls school because I think I had a more well rounded and complete experience. Not having boys around made it easy to become involved with sports, academics, and the arts without worrying about impressing anyone. The teachers are so dedicated to teaching girls and everyone- both teacher and student- is excited to go to classes each day.

I chose Porter’s over other all girls schools because I really liked the welcoming community and strong academics. I felt at home on campus from day 1.
