<p>I missed an exam last Friday. I simply thought it would be the following week and just found out about it right now when I read the syllabus more clearly. What should I do? Is this an automatic fail? Should I consult the instructors? I am freaking out right now.</p>
<p>You will get a zero for this exam. Whether or not you can still pass the course will depend on how much the exam you missed counts toward your final grade and how well you do on your other exams in the course and any points you can earn from homework assignments.</p>
<p>You need to be in the Prof’s office, first thing tomorrow. Beg and Plead for a reschedule. BTW, be prepared to test on the spot. GL.</p>
<p>I would also brush up on your school’s “late drop” policy. This is a hard thing to talk yourself out of, and unfortunately most professors weight tests so heavily that it is all but impossible to even pass with a zero here!</p>
