missed AP deadline

on college board it is written,
" Call AP Services no later than March 1 to get the names and telephone numbers of local AP Coordinators. Prepare a list of the exams you plan to take prior to calling so that the appropriate Coordinators can be identified
Contact the AP Coordinators identified by AP Services no later than March 15. "

Do you think it is too late to call AP Services on Monday??

What should i do

You can, but I doubt that you’ll get much help. All they do is basically tell you schools nearby that that given collegeboard permission to tell students that those schools give AP exams. They don’t tell which exams.

I think what you should do is find all nearby high schools, and ask if you can take the test there. If you live in an urban/suburban environment, then you can also look up greatschools and see if that school offers the AP exam you seek (it might also work for rural areas, but I don’t know). But basically, go directly to the school.

I was in the same situation. I called two or three days after the deadline and they gave me a list of schools with AP Coordinators and their phone numbers to call. You should call and get the numbers of the neighboring schools then call and tell them what exam you are taking and if you can take it at that school.

Not to hijack the thread (it’s related, but…)

I live in New York City and there’s a school directory that lists what AP courses each high school offers. I know that my local public high school offers a pretty large plethora of them, so how do I go about the process of asking them if I could take the exams I want to take? Do I just look up a guidance counselor phone number and ask him/her, or what?

P.S. Etiquette related: It is the student who’s expected to phone them, right? I just don’t want to hear a tone of surprise when they hear a teenager asking for this.

I emailed the counselors at my nearby high schoolers. Some didn’t respond, but the ones who did were very nice.

I emailed them myself, all my parents did was write the check.

I don’t think anything will be different if you phoned them.

^ I agree. I called them, found a school to take the exam. It’s that easy.
