missed deadline by 1 minute

i'm not here for lectures. i submitted my application to a college before the deadline, but i submitted the supplement at 12:01am the night of the deadline. so now it recorded the supplement's submission as the day after the deadline. does this affect my chances of being considered by a school?

Relax. Most schools have a grace period after the deadline (ranging from a couple minutes to a couple of hours, depends on the school). I submitted my app to Stanford 3 minutes late (Stanford is notorious for their strict deadlines), I emailed the admissions office a couple minutes later and they said it was fine. I mean, a school is really not going to toss your app out because it was one minute late. Relaxxxxxxxxxx.

Depending on the school, an email to their admissions office should help you this. They might be understanding and make sure your application is considered, but if they don’t, they’ll at least tell you.

how did you get in touch with someone so quickly??

It’s because I wanted to submit an art supplement and Stanford’s RD deadline with an art supplement is a month before the regular RD deadline. So on December 1st I was all panicky because common app decided it would have a technical error when I hit submit and thus I submitted the app late. But the admissions people were very nice and they said my app was fine, they got it.

That is a relief… idkanymore i did the same thing. Computer decided to crash at 11:58… it was so cliche i couldn’t believe it

Haha. A virus popped out right after I submitted. It said in colorful letters ‘You got PWNED! =D’. But in fact, the virus got pwned.

OK so tell me what you think…

I had submitting my supplement to UPENN around 11 pm…but completely forget about the common app part of the application. At 12:10 am, I realized that I had forgotten about it and immedietely submitted it. Will they accept my application?

u guys’ll like this one

i finished the rochester supplement at 11:57 or so, and i was gunna submit it and the common app part to the 4 schools.
i hit “submit” and it says “you have been successfully logged out”

under a minute late for rochester. a minute for the rest

I’m sure you’ll be fine. It was only 10 minutes. If you feel really worried about it, you can email the admissions office but I’m sure they’re swamped in everything right now and probably won’t get back to you for a while.

haha. stupid commonapp logs you out due to inactivity. MIT rules. YOu only log out every 3 hours.

OK so tell me what you think…

Haha, that happened to me too. I went to hit SAVE (like seriously, SAVE) and I got logged out. Nothing saved. -_- Had to rewrite all those Stanford short answers again.

No online application is user-friendly. Except MIT of course.

Besides, Stanford’s deadline are in Pacific Time, not Eastern Time so there are still a little less than 2 hours left

My guidance counselors never submitted my school forms to UVA or UPenn…so I was rushing to finish the apps but the the forms aren’t in. Do the schools only get the app once everything is submitted or will they have my app and supplement but not the school forms? Do you think they’ll show mercy lol?

applied to nyu, upenn, and brown 6 minutes late, but paid for nyu and brown well before 12 AM, think they’ll care?

You are totally fine. Don’t worry about it. Last year I submitted my Tufts application late by a few minutes and I still got in. A bunch of people submit a bit late. There is a grace period. =D

Here’s my “midnight” question. I submitted my application and supplement for Princeton well before the deadline. However, I only just realized that I had forgotten the payment section and submitted it half an hour late. Does it record the date that the application and supplement were submitted or does it look at the whole thing?

Can I call the admissions office and plead my case if there’s a danger of it getting marked as late?

Please help! I am very worried: I applied ED II at NYU. NYU requires students to send the payment, submit the supplement before being able to submit the common app with the personal essay. All necessary documents were submitted on time but just a few minutes after the deadline I realized that I did not submit the common app that had already been ready for weeks! I submitted that maximum 5 minutes after the deadline and sent an email to the admissions office. Should this be fine or will they cancel my whole application??
thanks
