Missed deadline for the interview! will it hurt me?

<p>Hey guys, </p>

<p>I didn't realize that the date to schedule the interview was before the application was due. Just found out today that the deadline was Dec. 1. </p>

<p>How important is the interview for GWU? Will it hurt me for not taking it? My info is below. </p>

UWGPA- 91.6
WGPA- 97.2
Best M + CR = 1520
Phsics- 720
Math II- 770
AP Calculus AB- 5
AP US History- 2 (not sent)
Decile- Top 10% (my school does not go into more detail)
Class Size- ~500</p>

<p>**Rigor of Curriculum
All honor Courses where the option was available.
3 AP classes (only one was available sophmore year. due to scheduling concerns I could only take 2 AP junior year instead of the max of 3)
Currently taking 2 AP courses</p>

<p>**Extra Curriculars
Founded Non-Profit organization Gift of 5 (Home | Gift of 5), which aims to reduce the child deaths due to zinc deficiency this summer. Currently we only have 4 members. Currently working with 2 clubs to organize fundraisers in my school. very little success so far, however.

Honor Roll for grades 9-11. I expect it in 12th grade as well.</p>

<p>The admissions counselor at GW informed me that they don’t try to find any reason to deny you, they try to find any reason to accept you. </p>

<p>So, using that, no it wont hurt you. But also, it wont help you.</p>

<p>Also, interviews seems to be weighted heavily in their decision from the people I have talked to.</p>

<p>But regardless, your app looks pretty good so i’d say you have a good shot!</p>

<p>D is a current junior. Works in admin- the interview is an alum in most cases and is used for applicants to show interest. You look solid but could contact your admin rep and ask if there is any way to set something up explaining your high level of interest in GW and your error in dates. (ps:you are showing interest by contacting admin no matter what the outcome).</p>

<p>I never did an interview, but my visitation and my essay showed interest, so they made up for the no interview part.</p>

<p>I’m in the GW class of 2014 and I never bothered with an interview. My essay was good and I had visited the summer before senior year, so I guess that showed interest. My stats were quite similar to yours, I think you’ll be fine!</p>
