Missed deadline, what to do?

So I was late submitting my supplement & commonapp, and it registered the next day's date. Has anyone ever been accepted when your application was late??? Are there any alumni/staff or current students who can answer this question?

I'm wondering if calling & begging would help? Would they even consider your "excuses" over the phone? Can someone knowledgeable about this deadline-process please comment about how bad this situation is & if I should consider this application wasted & dead?

see my reply to you in the Yale forum. Penn/Yale/Princeton and others are excited you applied. They aren’t gonna just auto delete your file. Relax

Thank you T26E4. Yes, that’s me in the other forums – trying to submit all at the same time, and of course, there’s quite a few steps involved before everything is submitted correctly. No excuses for last minute. With so many essays to write and trying to make them as perfect as possible… What more can I say? :frowning: After all that work, I’ll pray that the low % of acceptances doesn’t mean they auto-trash the late ones. Easy to do the process of elimination to reduce the number of qualified candidates that way, isn’t it?

^ Don’t worry. You’ve worked hard. Now go and party!!
As T26E4 said, they won’t delete your application. Go back after a day & check if they have downloaded your app. If they have, then you’re in the same pool as everyone else!!

Every other application I have completed got downloaded almost right after midnight. I was a few minutes late submitting my common application, but it still says that they have not downloaded it! How long should I wait?

Calm down, schools WANT to read your file - and I love T26E4’s previous comparison that the admission offices deadlines are NOT the Gates of Mordor ;).
