Missed FAFASA deadline for UC's, am I screwed?

<p>Title pretty much says it all. I am a very busy idiot and the deadline just flew passed me. Is there any hope for me at all?</p>

<p>Well no, you can still transfer and attend a UC…but instead of getting grant money, you’ll probably have to take out some pretty hefty loans. You will also be disqualified from getting a Cal Grant.</p>

<p>Just apply now, I’m not exactly sure what happens if you miss the deadline but I do know you are screwed on the Cal Grant which is a huge grant if you qualify for it.</p>

<p>Well my father makes more than 100K per year so I thought I didn’t qualify but I still should have filled it out. Ugh I am stupid.</p>

<p>If you’re a dependent and your father makes 100k+, you’ll probably be offered some loans and nothing else.</p>

<p>It’s not that black and white, if you have siblings/other dependents your EFC goes down, also, Cal Grant A is not need based, only Cal Grant B.</p>

<p>If you’re applying for UCB, UCB has something called MCAP which gives families making over 100k and under some number financial aid. The priority deadline was March 2nd though, and the absolute deadline was March 15th. I don’t think there’s any way to get a Cal grant at this point in the game though.</p>

<p>If you come from a California CC, you might still have a chance for the calgrants (limited in number and amount though…)</p>

<p>I filled mine out late and UCI still counted it as “on time.” (It’s on my aid page)</p>

<p>You can still get aid, just not as much as you would have if you had submitted on time. The deadline is there to ensure that you get the best aid package possible. Shoulda been more alert. Everybody likes more money.</p>
