Missed Final!

Okay, OP, you can do one of two things at this point:

Petition for an incomplete. This means this class will not affect your GPA. In addition, it will allow you to take the final the next time the class is offered.

Take the hit on the GPA and retake the class next semester. The new grade you get will replace the D or F you got in this semester.

Go watch Avatar in IMAX and relieve your stress…

ask multiple trustworthy friends who have finals at the same time to call you up. or if you have friends/relatives at different time zones, utilize them (that’s what i did). there was a semester back in high school when i pulled all nighters for all my finals.

I hate to be mean, but your alarms probably did sound and you just turned them off.

Set your alarms for an hour before your final and set A LOT of them e.g. every 5 minutes.

If your parents are early birds, you can ask them to give you a reminder over the phone. I know it sounds a bit silly, but it worked really well for me.

i remember my 2nd to last semester. I had three finals at 8am on consecutive days. The hardest part of the final was to show up. None of the finals were that hard, it was just a pain having to get up early. I had my mom in texas call me around 8:45am central time, which gave me about 75 minutes to make my way over to the exam. it’s a pretty good feeling when you realize that the hardest part of an exam is simply showing up…

My final semester, I had 4 classes and two of them were a final project which were turned in pre-finals and thus, had no final exam, another was an optional final exam, which i declined to take, and the last one was at 5pm on the very last day of finals (ugh, was bored out of my mind during that 10 day gap between classes and that final…)
