I applied to a lot of schools and not all of them have the same deadlines for CSS and FAFSA and they’re all different and jlakjsdf… excuses. Anyways, what repercussions do
I face by not filing on the 1st? I filed today (2/15). I’m doing this FA stuff mainly on my own since my stepdad didn’t go to college and my mom is from a different country. They don’t even have their taxes ready yet because they are being lazy bums who won’t listen to me.

You should be fine - the dates are suggested ones. Make sure to send in all the other documents required by IDOC as soon as you have tax information for your parents/ guardian.

my parents are just like that !!!

My guess is that it’s okay. And you need to focus on getting the remaining info in ASAP instead of abandoning all hope or worrying about missed deadlines.

Remember, their function is to make attending Brown possible for people. I don’t think they’re using missed deadline cutoff dates as a substitute for actually reviewing applications.

I suspect that the backlog of files is still a very tall stack on each of their desks by February 15. And for many of the “timely” files, the information is still not complete. So, by the time your package rolls in, it’s (probably) not as if it is disrupting the flow of decisionmaking. When your folder is added to the stack of folders still waiting to be reviewed on FA officer’s desk, that stack will be just as high as it would have been if your folder had arrived on February 1. And just as many folders will have been reviewed – because lots of folders did arrive by February 1 to keep them busy all that time.

Just be vigilant about getting the tax returns and other materials in with time for them to make a decision.

I just turned my FAFSA and CSS like two or three weeks ago, and Brown told me to just send it in… 2 months ago

Do you guys have to send in a noncustodial form? :/
