Missed HASS-D Lottery - Where to find HASS-D selection list?

I missed the HASS-D Lottery deadline because I was travelling.

I have heard that you can email the admissions office with your choices after the deadline and they may place you in the lottery anyway. I have not been able to find a list of HASS-D courses anywhere that I can reference to make these choices - does anyone know where I could find this?

If I wait until registration day and then pick my HASS-D from whichever have open spots, will I have no chance to get into a good HASS-D?

The list of open HASS-D classes will be posted [here when it’s available – right now, it looks like it’s still last semester’s list. (But you can see that there were lots of courses left with open spots last semester – usually it’s not a huge problem to show up to a course on the first day with an add form, although it’s preferable to lottery in if you’re picky.) According to the main HASS-D page, the lottery results won’t be posted until August 23, so it’s likely they won’t update the list until after that date.

There’s no harm in contacting the HASS admins (not the admissions office – they have no responsibility for you anymore :)) and asking whether you could be entered into the lottery late. The admin contact email is on this”>MIT SHASS: Undergraduate Studies - Updated]this page](MIT SHASS: Undergraduate Studies - Updated).

I may be misunderstanding the new and improved HASS requirement, but I’m getting that you don’t need to enter the HASS-D lottery unless you have a particular class you want to take that’s designated as a HASS-D. A list of HASS-D subjects offered in fall 2011 can be found here.

great - thanks!

that subject search tool was exactly what i was looking for…

looks like there are plenty of really great HASS subjects that are not HASS-D’s, so I’ll take my time to research my options :]
