Well unfortunately just realized housing contract deadline was missed. Didn't understand the process and had not received notification via email/mail as expected. On a wait list but not feeling too positive about getting on campus housing. Suggestions for plan B????

im in the exact same position…shoot

well at least i’m not alone…hoping for the best to luck out on a spot. if not will start looking for off campus…ugh!

No worries…I did the same thing many years ago (1983) and had to scramble for an alternative. I moved into LaMancha apartments. They were four bedroom apts with a living room, dining room and a kitchen. There is a pool as well. It was within walking distance to school and they will match you up with roomates it needed. I just found their website - it looks much nicer all these years later. By the way, I still am in touch with the people I met at LaMancha (now known as Campus Walk). Now I get to bring my son to Gainesville this fall!!! He will be staying in Graham Area (Trussler).

In the same boat as well!! What now? Does anyone know the chances of getting housing? What should we be doing, besides waiting?

What I find most frustrating about it is I think it’s EXTREMELY unlikely we will get a second contract…they don’t come out and say that. They tell you you might get one in the next ‘several weeks’. Well that’s pretty vague and if they’re so overcrowded already why would they string people along??? Just say…move on. That’s where I’m going with it. Looking for alternate housing potentials.
Mykidsisawesome…do you have a son or daughter?

A girl!! Where are you going to look… A friend is pointing us to off campus appt. I really would rather her on campus… Where will you be looking funluvngal?

What’s the chance of a late contract triple? And do we even want that?

Just curious, when did you realize the contract deadline had passed.
Well we’re trying to stay close to campus. I’ve talked with people at The Courtyards, Windsor Hall and Campus Walk so far.
I seriously doubt a contract will become available and so I’m not bothering to wait for that…
Good luck with what you end up with too!

We realized yesterday!! She kept saying she was waiting for an email that would tell her it was her turn to pick housing… I told her to make a phone call to find out the info instead of waiting for an email… That’s when they told us “you didn’t finish filling out your contract” Which I am not really understanding… What was the $25.00 for… It was to say you want housing right? The lady we spoke to at housing said they have been pulling people off the waitlist. She didn’t make it sound hopeless…

Well have her check her spam…although I’m not sure what the story is with this email thing. My son said he never got an email and it isn’t in his spam…whatever.
The $25 was to submit your application(the date on that determined where you would fall in the room selection process)…not your contract which is a $200 deposit and states your preferences. I don’t know about them pulling people off the wait list, that sounds weird. So who did you talk to? I don’t know, in the past they’ve had to double people up and they don’t have enough housing for MANY students!

We checked spam ,nothing there… The whole process is quite confusing. Escpcially when it’s the oldest kid in the family ,so first time we are doing this… Seems they could have sent a reminder to those that had paid the 25 and submitted the app
Don’t have a name of whom we spoke to, she said we should hear in about 2 weeks. So we are some what hopeful.
I am looking into off campus housing though. Not happy
