Missed Regular Decision

So, I decided to apply to Brown University using regular decision because I didn’t want the binding decision that comes with early decision. My common app is all ready and I have all my recommendations. But my school messed up on sending my transcripts. I asked them to send it to 4 schools, but they forgot about brown. Because it’s winter break I can’t get my transcript sent out until Jan 3 at the earliest and the RD deadline is the 2nd.

What are my chances that they would accept my application if it’s a day or two late?

No worries. If all your materials are in, you should be fine. As long as the school doesn’t send it, you know, several weeks late.

As above, you don’t get penalized for someone else’s tardiness unless it’s so egregious they can’t work around it

are transcripts required? there’s no word about them on commonapp, they only say to submit them if your school doesn’t have standartized exams.

Transcripts are required. It is part of the “school forms” on the Common App, I suppose.
Brown, and all other universities, state this on their website.

So are you guys saying they just want the Common App by Jan 1? Because I know Northwestern just wants the CommonApp, not even the suplements, by tomorrow. Like if I don’t turn in my transcripts or a rec by today, would they throw out my application?

Penguin–they won’t throw out your application if every piece is not in today. Your Common App is what is needed by the deadline–just get everything else in asap.

Your supplements should really be in as well - not just the Common App. Basically, they want everything from you by 1/1. Things from your school/teachers/other people can come later.
