<p>So I'm a National Merit Scholar entering my second year of college...and I missed the deadline for renewal. The letter was sent to my home, where I have spent all of two (very hectic) days since it arrived.</p>

<p>You didn’t miss the deadline. they will send a second letter in April if you missed the first one in March. From the National Merit website:</p>
<p>In early March, Scholars will receive at their home addresses detailed instructions for completing an Online Scholarship Renewal Application for the upcoming academic year. If NMSC does not receive the Scholar’s renewal application, an additional notification will be sent in April. If the Scholar does not submit the renewal application after this reminder, the scholarship will be withdrawn and no further checks will be issued.</p>
