Missed the housing deadline?!?!?!

Help!? I'm thinking about going to UW now that I've been rejected from Stern, and was admitted to UW 5 months ago. Needless to say, I missed the housing deadline, can I still get on campus housing? thanks

You should call the housing office tomorrow morning, and then I'd recommend that you look into the University Housing system (the private company) if they can't help you out.

Good luck :)

There will be plenty of private dorm slots around and they are fine. But still try the public too.

dont rule out the public dorms quite yet!
i reaccepted UWs offer one month before classes began this past fall. I was placed in "expanded housing". The expanded housing rooms are converted dens used for temporary housing until space opens up in any of the public dorms. While you may not get your first choice you will have a place to stay! i was only in expanded housing for 4 days, and before my first day of classes i had moved into a permanent room. definately call teh housing office, they can work something out for you! no one is in expanded housing for both semesters. by second semester you will have a real room. dont lose hope quite yet!

expanded housing sounds horrible to me ;/

4 days is acceptable, but an entire semester certainly is not.

Well, well.... "expanded housing" is 25% cheaper than a double @ Ogg/Smith. :)

From University "marketing" material:

We often find that students are so comfortable in the large Expanded Housing spaces that they are reluctant to move to a permanent room assignment when a regular residence hall room becomes available.

Anybody got a photo showing an "expanded house"?

Hmm, maybe I'm wrong!

I'd be glad to be in this case, heh (since I'm OOS and I sent in my housing app like 3/9...which was still the day I got it)

No photos- just memories of dens not being available until things settled- they say, and I would believe them, that students get all the furnishings such as bed, desk, dresser... there may be more than 2 people sharing, but if I remember, the space per person might actually be greater... the floor dens may be closer to the bathroom than many of the rooms down the hall... you would use the same facilities including dining...

Another choice. Brand spanking new.
