Missed the registration deadline for Orientation

Hi, I am an international student who accepted the offer from UC San Diego. After I submitted my SIR form, I rarely checked my email. Tonight, I sadly found out that the registration deadline for the Orientation is June 2, and obviously, I missed it. And apparently it is mandatory for all new students to attend the Orientation. What can I do now to fix this problem? What are the consequences of not attending the Orientation?

Call them and ask. I would call them as quickly as you possibly can (note that right now they will still be there in California, given the time zone).

My daughter and I just attended an optional orientation at a different university (a LONG way from California). It was a great experience and well worth the short flight that we took to get there. However, relatively few of the incoming students from “far away” attended.

I just emailed them, but I guess that I had better call them.
