Missing 2 pre-req courses before transfer to UCD

Hello,

I’m currently CCC student who try to transfer to UCD, UCI, UCR and UCSC computer science.
Today, I figure out that I will miss one or two major pre-req courses when I apply to UCD and UCSC, and UCR

UC transferable GPA end of Spring 2018: 3.74
Major pre-req GPA: 3.76 (3 A’s and 1 B)

UCD - missing 2 major pre-req courses: ENG CS 50, 60
UCR - missing 1 major pre-req courses: CS 12
UCSC - missing 2 major pre-req courses: CMPS 12B 12M

I actually find out the CC that provides the missing classes, but I have to drive 1 hr.
Also, since these classes require to have one pre-req course (I’m not sure the other CC will accept my transcript).

I’m not sure how much missing major pre-req will effect to my application.
I will schedule the appointment with my transfer counselor and try to call UCD, UCR, and UCSC admission offices next week. However, I just want to hear you guys opinion about my situation.

By definition, a pre-requisite is a requirement before you can be accepted.

So it sounds to me as though you won’t be able to transfer without them.

But meet with your transfer counselor Monday if you hope to transfer for Fall 2018

Davis says complete as many as possible and if course isn’t offered at your CCC you need to do it at Davis. You should be okay for admission eligibility.

UCR- don’t know

UCSC: you are missing two required courses. It says you can possibly miss one if you took 12/L.

Transfer students must have completed all of the foundation courses or their
articulated equivalents with a cumulative GPA of at least 2.8 in these courses:
-CMPS 12A/L (or CMPS 5J & CMPS 11 or CMPE 13/L)
-CMPS 12B/M

-CMPE 16

-And MATH 19A & MATH 19B or MATH 11A & 11B.

A student lacking one foundation course may be admitted if they have completed
CMPE 12/L. It is highly recommended that all transfer students in computer
science complete this course prior to admission.

I actually finish CMPE 12/L with an A, but I guess I still have to make up one of the course during the spring?

I don’t know. Your best bet is to email UCSC. Are the courses not offered? That always helps. Email so you have a written response if they say it’s ok. That covers you in case there’s a later situation.
