I got accepted to attend the Middlebury Diversity weekend visit and the Voices of Tufts diversity program. Smart on my part, I didn't realize that occurred on the same week. I'm definitely attending the Midd one, and I would miss Monday and Tuesday. If I attend the Tufts visit, I'll miss Thursday and Friday. I'm worried that I'll miss a lot of work since I will only be in school for Wednesday. Since Tufts is not top on my list, I was considering not attending the visit, but I'm worried it would look really bad on my part, and I actually wouldn't mind visiting. If you were in this situation, what would you do?

Missing a week of school is not that big of a deal. You’ll be able to manage it.

I would attend the Midd one myself, since it’s one of my top schools. And Monday and Tuesday are usually slow days anyway. Thursday and Friday are generally review and test days. Whatever you do, don’t go to both if you have AP courses that have daily readings and quizzes (like my APUSH class). It will just be too hard to catch up. Pick your favorite.

Go.

You obviously have high enough grades that you don’t need to be in the classroom.

Just keep up with your work while you’re gone and ask to take any quizzes/tests on Friday after school for Monday and Tuesday and any quizzes/tests on Wednesday for Thursday/Friday.

Thanks for you’re advice. I think I’ll go to both. I just still have to tell my parents hahaha.

If you’re the type of student that can learn things on your own, then go for it.
