I took the ACT and had my scores sent to the UC's that I applied to (LA, Davis, and SB). My copy of my score report says that the scores were sent to these schools, but on the website to check what documents have been recieved by the UC's, the scores aren't showing up! I don't know what to do. Is it too late to send the ACT scores again, or will the UC's evaluate my app based upon the self reported scores? My SAT scores are on file, but the ACT ones are better...I'm worried that this has ruined my chances, and especially worried about UCLA bec that's the school I care about the most.

this is happening to me too. I sent my act's in twice but it still hasn't shown up. I think it is like this for everyone because i don't think they could have lost my scores two times. I think they will go by your self-reported scores.

Well, I would call to check up on it...

This exact same thing happened to me. I would suggest emailing or calling IMMEDIATELY because as far as I know, they will not accept only self-reported scores. When I emailed back in December, they responded fairly quickly (1-2 working days) and had the application status site updated the next day.

Good luck!

Federation--what address did you e-mail?

i thought uc's look at ur self reported scores first and then when they accept you, they look if your scores are correct. Anyways, i'll call i guess, but i sent them in twice so that is really weird.

If my sat scores were just as good as my act scores, and they haven't received my act's, will they just disregard my acts or will they go by self reported? Or will this look bad as in lying?

There was apparently a corrupted disk (at least with the disk delivered to the people who did the inputting of the disk with my info on it). The inputting is done by an outside service (surprisingly, ETS, the people who do the SAT)(wonder if there's a connection here with SAT people inputting ACT info?!?). You have to call ACT at their local number, I think it's in Colorado or Idaho or something like that. Then they provide you with a telelphone number of a real person at ETS/UC doing the inputting. Check with them, then let the ACT people know what is happening. Generally, the disk, when working right, is supposed to be able to match your ACT information with your UC application number. Often it doesn't, so your scores go into lalaland. The ACT people are well aware of the problem and how to fix it, so deal with them. It took me about a week for me to discover the problem, make the contacts, get ACT to overnight a new disk, and talk to the ETS person to make sure they could match it up.

Sorry this is so long winded, but I was completely freaking out when it happened. Just make sure you have your UC ID# and write down all the names of the people you talk to and get their direct lines (or extensions).

I went nuts over all this because my ACT was substantially better than my SAT scores.

Good luck!

Beatchick--thanks, I'm going to do that tomorrow morning. Do you think it's too late, though?

I just pm'd you, but noooo, it's never too late! Good luck!
