Late tonight, Aruban authorities revealed that one of the suspects admitted that he killed Alabama high school senior, Natalee Holloway - who has been missing in Aruba for the past two weeks. More information can be found here.

While I certainly do hope that this isn't true and that Natalee will be found alive, please keep the family in your thoughts and prayers. This is the time when families celebrate graduation, but for the friends and family of the Holloways, it is everything but that.

It has been reported that alcohol and faux intimacy were involved in the "incident." No surprise. Although she is the unfortunate victim of what appears to be a brutal crime, Ms. Holloway should not be forgiven for her irresponsibility. I hope that all involved are brought to justice. Not to exploit it for private gain, but I think many of my fellow teenagers could learn a thing or two from the story . . .

I agree with you, Nom. Regardless of Ms. Holloway's actions, I still hope the story does not have a bitter ending. Thousands of graduating seniors and high school students alike can learn from this story.

The media now reports that one of the detained men only confessed that "something bad happened." He did not say whether or not Ms. Holloway was murdered or not. More information can be found here.

I agree, Nom... it's truely unfortunate that what happened did, but her actions and choices don't seem to be the most responsible. I've been all over the Caribbean and Mexico and can assure you that I am always watching my back, watching my friends back, and thinking of safety. You won't find me out clubbing or really anywhere at night. Depending on the story I read, I get different impressions... but most agree that she left ALONE with a bunch of guys she'd just met, right? That's crazy dangerous and just asking for bad things to happen.

The concept of parents sending their kids to party in Mexico/Caribbean is just crazy to me. A friend of mine died last year in Cancun and I know of another girl(who I had met but not really a friend) who died in St. Thomas... both went with a bunch of friends and died as a result of over partying... one alcohol and one falling to death from a balcony because of being drunk. I don't know why Ms. Holloway was on her vacation but I know that LOTS of seniors go to these places to party and I'm just amazed that parents allow it.

I wish her parents the best and pray that she is found alive...

Amen to you Nom. I hope to God she is found alive, and no one deserves what probably happened to her, but we need to take responsibility of ourselves and of our future children. Parents need to do more parenting instead of being oblivious morons. You gotta watch your back in these places. And she wasn't miss innocent either, being all drunk and kissy-kissy with these Dutch boys (who are friends with the Surinamese people accused). So let this be a lesson to all.
