Missing alternative major for UCB

My S applied for UCB and UCLA. We just found out that in his application, for some reason the alternative major for UCB is missing. Not sure what happened. His first major was EECS, and the one he planned to take was computer science.

Without the alternative major, he would reduce his chance of being admitted. We plan to talk to admission office on Monday. He already sent an email to explain the situation. What do you guy think UCB will do? Allow him to add a second major? He is from outside of CA.

Thanks

In my time (applied for Fall 2010), I know that Berkeley did not consider a 2nd major, while UCLA did. From this website (see #7), it looks like that has not changed.

Good luck!

Ya, I’m pretty sure Cal doesn’t give you a second “fall back” major for applying…meaning his first choice is his only chance for admission.

You are only allowed to apply to one major.
