I'm planning on transferring to either UCD,UCSD,UCLA,UC Irvine as a Biology major in Fall 2010. I will have most of my pre-reqs done with only O-Chem series missing. I just turned in my UC app saying I will be taking Bio 3 (part of a 3 part series at my CC - bio1,bio2,bio3), but it looks like I won't be able to take it since it's full. I'm not a 100% sure if it will be full once the semester starts, but would it be wise just to remove it from my application? Also, I signed a TAG with Davis saying I would be taking Bio 3, but now I might not be able to. I'm confused at what to do at the moment.

my understanding is that, if your a bio major u have to finish the bio sequence, im also pretty sure ochem is HIGHLY recommended, I would say that you should waitlist bio class, and explain ur situation to the teacher, and see if he/she can do anything for you. Also bio usually has a lot of dropped students, so im sure u can wait it out and get in.

Well, I had a friend who transferred only with Bio 1 and 2 and another friend who took all 3, but they only accepted Bio 1 & 2. I can’t get on the waitlist since it’s at its max. I already spoke to the professor and he said it’s highly unlikely.

I’m sure some would drop after 2 days.

So I wasn’t able to get into the class after all. Are my chances of being admitted completely lowered at this point?

One semester of ochem is a pre req while bio 3 is not. For ucla atleast. You’ll be at a disadvantage since you’re missing a pre req.

But if your tag agreement says you have to complete the bio series, I would call them and see what ur options are or take it at another cc.
