Missing credentials upon checking status of app

It’s pretty late for Brown to be messing my stuff. Their site tells me that they’re missing my transcript and one of my teacher recs, but I know that both were sent in on the correct dates. Do you think that they’re a little backed up or that I’m screwed?

jjkell87... I sent in all my materials (application packet, high school and college transcripts, and three letters of recommendation) over a month ago. I called them on Friday and they haven't found one piece of material for me, yet. I couldn't beieve it! They told me to call them back Monday morning. I have another packet ready to go, but the admissions officer told me that they don't like applicants sending in more than one packet.
If I don't get admitted to Brown, I want it to be because I am not qualified, NOT because they can't find my materials.

do they still update it? coz i have one rec missing

They're missing all of my Part II...
I sent it online!

sigh...they are missing 2 of my teacher recs, and I sent everything in 1 packet, but then how can they have my third rec that was right next to the other 2 in the packet???

Did everyone send their Recomm. Letters in with their packets? I thought Brown requested that the Recommender send it themselves?

i didn't thomas.

brown seems to not be able to handle the influx of apps- they're missing a recc of mine too. i sent a replacement and they haven't gotten it. they're 15 minutes away, i feel like driving over there and fixing my app file myself.

You can send recommendations in the same packet; they should be sealed in separate envelopes, so it's like they sent it themselves, I guess. Idk, my teachers sent mine on their own and brown got all of my other stuff. Just not the part ii, which I sent on their own website! gahh

As prestigious as Brown is, it's hard to believe that their admissions department is an absolute "trainwreck".

I like Brown's admissions department. They seem fairly flexible and prompt. Plus, they accepted me.

OK, so I'm biased.

Well I wrote an email about my "missing documents" but they never responded so I'm just going to send a paper copy of my Part II (along with the email confirmation that they did receive it). I KNOW they have it. Geez is my application sitting behind a desk somewhere?!

Z...They have NEVER responded to my emails. I just sent in copies of all my materials. I know they don't like applicants sending in multiple items of the same thing, but oh well.

"is my application sitting behind a desk somewhere?"

That would be awful lol

My application status was complete at first, but nervous me checked back again ten days later and found that my status had changed to incomplete. After I called the Admissions office asking why my status changed from complete to incomplete, the message on my status page changed asking to resend the missing document. It was weird, but the admissions office was very nice about it. They said they probably "temporarily misfiled" it. I'm resending it tomorrow.

that's what the website says...
that's why i say "temporarily misfiled" = behind a desk gathering dust..
I'm telling you it's possible. My gc used to be an admissions officer at columbia and said that happened to her..she lost some kid's application behind her desk and found it a week later >.<
nervous yet?

my application is finally complete - they found my rec today :D

Yeah is says app is complete. I applied for arts and science whatever and only sent in two recs though, I heard the minimum was 3 for any kind of diploma though.

they say they don't have my form 1A--it was in the same envelope as the form 1b that caused them to send me my password etc :/

they say they don't have anything from me despite the fact that it was all sent 4+ weeks ago...

one teacher rec missing despite of sending it again

My application file was complete, but them suddenly was incomplete ten days later (this was back in January).I had resent my transcript twice, which they didnt get either time. I called Brown Admissions and they told me to fax it. My counselor faxed a copy of my transcript finally on Mon. I checked later the same night and my file changed to COMPLETE. Finally!!!! I really hope I get into Brown!!!! I suggest to fax any missing documents if you can! Hope this helps!! ;)
