Hi, I’m a senior with high 90s and some low 90s as grades. My grades have remained relatively the same throughout the year, they have either gone a few points up or down.
Throughout my high school career I’ve missed an average about 2 days per school year. But senior year I have missed 5. 3 of these days were sick days, so they were excused. 2 were college visit days which are permitted by my high school, so they were also excused.
I’ve been accepted into a few colleges so far with half my tuition covered by scholarships. But I was wondering is it likely for colleges to rescind their admission or scholarship if I have missed a five days of school?
Lol no. Colleges don’t see attendance unless it’s on your transcript, even then, missing 5 days is not even close to being significant.
No. My goodness! Most high schools have some kind of policy about kids who miss something like 20 days of school. This is not anything you need to worry about?
My D missed a LOT of school. Like a real lot! She was a competitive athlete in a non-school related sport that required her to travel quite a bit, usually out of the country once a year. Then she was on her high school Robotics team which also traveled. Then her junior year she had medical issues and had surgery. Most of her absences were considered excused but often she was over the limit of how many our district would allow as being excused without a doctor’s note so she’d have a couple unexcused. No one seemed to care and her grades did not suffer so it didn’t seem to impact college admissions.
There were some people in the sport she was in that had several international trips a year. They would joke they’d miss about an entire month of school in the spring.
Many got into very prestigious schools. Colleges cared more about their achievements and grades than their attendance.
