Missing Elections for a Club??

I plan on running for president in a club that I am very passionate about.
I am qualified for the position (I've got ec's out of school and summer programs to back me), but it so happens that my MUN conference is on the same day of elections! :(

I contacted the current president and asked if she could do anything to change the date of elections, but she said she couldn't reschedule it.

I don't know whether to miss the conference to attend elections and give my speech, or to attend the conference and have my speech read my someone else. (Who would want to vote for someone who isn't even there to read their own speech, right?)
For MUN, I got several of my resolutions into the packet and I believe I have a good chance of winning the gavel if I can pull through.

Any advice?
Thanks in advance!

Wow, this is a tricky one. If I were you, I would go to elections. There will be other MUN conferences. If you’re really passionate about the other club though, go to it so you can show leadership and your passion.

What do you do at MUN conferences? It kind of depends on the club. You could always tell someone else to read your speech. If you have a sort-of popular person read your speech, you might even gain some votes. This is just what I think. In the end, the decision is up to you…:D
