Missing Financial Aid Documents

Well a think some were saying it has been a trend and possibility. I think this just shows it’s not anything for sure.

I think the thing that gets most of us is that it’s days (5) away from when they’re supposedly releasing their decisions.

We’ll see i guess.

Question for people who got emails: Do you think you have a reasonable (+50%) chance of getting in Chicago?

not to call it and tempt bad luck, but I’d say my SAT scores are above Chicago’s 25-75 range and my grades are strong.

got the email.

(knock on wood!)

35 ACT, 13th in Class, 7 APs, Solid Recs, Okay Essays, Turned it in on Oct 31st.

I got the email—2340 SAT; 800, 800, 780 on SAT subject tests in Math II, Chem, and US History respectively; five 5s on AP tests; most rigorous schedule; ranked 6/446 (4.0 UW, 4.4 W); awesome recs and essays; fantastic interview (lasted over two and a half hours).

I can’t believe it…

Lol. I got it. 29 ACT, 8 AP’s, Great EC’s, really strong essays, and strong recs.

Im not trying to be a combo breaker but I have
Reading: 730
Math:710
on my SAT and G.P.A of 3.4 U.W which means Chicago is a real real reach for me considering how low my G.P.A is, and yet i also got an email so i dout its related with the admission decisions.

REad this quote:
“(3) Once Admissions makes their admit decisions (with no sense of a student’s financial need) we report to the Financial Aid office those students we have selected for admission.”

This kind of decides what the email means, does it not?

wow…now I wish I started the financial app just to see if I get the email haha I didn’t request any aid…

I live in nm. I completed everything but the 08 tax returns. No email. Very depressed

But I mean maybe its not a blatant rejection. Because aid doesn’t come till January and I could have been accepted and they might not have gotten to my aid app yet. Or maybe I’m blindly hanging on to hope.

Seriously guys, I’m thinking that this really means absolutely nothing. If any of you have had to call the College, you’ll know that “the system” does not run as smoothly.
Example: They filed me under two different names when they were sorting through applications and told me i had to hand EVERYTHING IN?!? I sent everything in like a week in advance (except the Fin aid forms of course cause I haven’t handed that in).

The incompetence of clerks, et al. will suprise you guys. I really think everyone (myself included) is making this a bigger deal of this than it is.

I just called up uchicago office of admissions and asked if the financial aid email had anything to do with admission and her reply was no.

thanks for clearing up the issue alfassa, best of luck to all!

Ahhh! I received the email to!

hmm, so i’m actually starting to worry about this, we are still filling out the missing forms and they probably won’t be in until 12/18 ish, but, if we do not get these in on time, will there be financial aid consequences (i was already admitted)?
