Missing Financial Aid = no acceptance?

On the website, when I put in my Columbia applicant ID code, it still shows my financial aid stuff missing. By now, if I were to be accepted, would/should it have shown up already?

I think i'm just freaking out. I hope. Anyone else noticing things like this?

not me....

don't worry about your acceptance. unrelated. but call/email them if you want to make sure your finaid stuff is in. My stuff was all updated as "received" just a few days after I sent them the stuff, and that was early November before they would have made acceptance decisions. So don't think this means you're not in. . .

no financial form just means no financial aid.

You can still get in. . . . . .some people don't bother to apply to financial aid, so it won't against your admissions. . . . .your education will just be very expensive.

my question is this:

if so late in the game (with about 2 weeks before letters start pouring in), i am still getting requests from colleges about the financial aid forms that my parents messed up, does this mean i am seriously being considered as a candidate for admission? the optimistic part of me can't help but think that they wouldn't bother asking for fafsa stuff if they already had my application in the rejection pile. i don't want to get my hopes up, but thats the way my mind is working. do i need to get splashed with a half-empty glass?

ive had the same problem. i just didnt turn in my financial aid (specifically CSS PROFILE) bc i was too lazy. they sent me notices to send it in, but explained that it was completely unrelated to admissions. I was just accepted into Emory, and they gave me an extension till may 1 to file my forms. so im sure IF u are accepted to columbia, they will allow u to send forms in later. but dont let this get ur hopes up! gl

question...i sent them the FAFSA but not their specialized form. do i still need to do that? because if so...boo...

i got letters like that from WUSTL and was wait listed.

it's not that late...but send the stuff NOW!

Yes BabyBird, you still need to send in Columbia's FinAid form. It was mandatory.

I sent in everything a while ago, except for the W-2's and 1099 from 2004, which I sent in (two day delivery) two days (maybe three) before the deadline. They still aren't up, but then again, it took them 3 months to say they got my Dec SAT II Spanish score and 2 months to say they got my transcript and sec school report, but yet five minutes after I send in my money, they received and processed it. Hmmm... Sorry, this is just me rambling.
I'm sure that if you are accepted, but they are simply missing conformation documents about your financial status, then they would allow you a few weeks to get that stuff in after you are notified. They wouldn't accept you if they didn't want you. They have thousands of others who are just as qualified. If not, and you really really want to go, then just defer for a year, backpack across Europe (or whatever) and make sure you get all of your stuff in the next year. It'd either be that or CC.
