I took Geometry in 8th grade so I was supposed to go into Algebra 2 my Freshman year, but I found it too difficult and switched into Algebra 1. My counselor said that because I took Geometry in 8th grade, I wouldn’t need to take it again my Sophomore year, so I went straight from Algebra 1 to Algebra 2 that year. So, even though I took Geometry in 8th grade, it looks like I skipped it on my transcript. I’m going into my Senior year now, so I won’t be able to take Geometry again before I apply to colleges. Will this hurt my college admissions chances?
Just ask your HS Guidance Counselor to note on your transcript that you took in in 8th grade. It’s not uncommon.
My son’s transcript had an 8th grade math class on it (Algebra 1). Have you looked at your transcript?
Agreed. My sons high school transcript notes “Grade 8 course taken at Jones High School-Geometry”.
Even if it’s not on there, it’s not going to matter.
