What the title says.

Literature major with 4/5 of the pre-req's done (with A's in all of them). The final one (Shakespeare) isn't offered at any JC near me.

Does this automatically disqualify me? Do I still have a chance?

No, it does not automatically disqualify you. And if it happens that none of the CCs in your area offer the class, your not having taken it won’t hurt you at all.

As a Philosophy major, I have 0 of 3 prerequisites completed, and that’s the norm.

My major is linguistics, which isn’t offered at any community college in my area. LING 101 is the first thing I will have to take once I transfer to a four year, before I will actually be admitted to the major. It goes the same way for any other CC. If there aren’t any courses that could be articulated, then they just have you take it at the four year with no penalty.

I guess this question is somewhat related.

If I’m missing my math requirement for IGETC, is that a huge detriment to my chances? I’m taking Statistics spring semester to finish it…

They say that IGETC is recommended… nothing about required, but it’s best to try to finish it anyway.

Since this is berkeley, when they say something is recommended just consider it as a requirement

From my experience, I’ve constantly been told that the English and the Math requirements are not to be put off till the end. It’s better to let the adcoms see that you got those out of the way. But I don’t think it’s a big deal as long as you finish it by the end of spring.
