missing one versus skipping one

Is your score the same either way - miss one or skip one because they both affect your raw score?

The entire scoring thing has had me confused because the prep books say you only get 1/4 of a point taken off for a wrong answer, so presumably you could miss 4 to equal only 1, but it most definitely does not seem to be that way at all.

So, is it just plain and simple the number of correct answers = score?

Thanks!

correct - (# incorrect x 1/4)

In other words, you forgot that by leaving it blank, you’ve lost the chance to earn that point. It may help you to think of it like this:

You start with a perfect score. Any blank costs you a point. Any wrong grid-in also costs you a point. Any wrong MULTIPLE CHOICE costs you 1.25 points.

that is correct

it is always best to guess because you get 2 free guesses to start…

and it does not make a difference if you miss 2. For example -2 equals a 51.5, which rounds up and 2 omitted is 52;therefore, you would get the same score. Just don’t miss three :)
