Did anyone here actually receive a letter/email from Upenn stating that some part of your application is missing?....

I haven't received an email. But actually my SAT score is missing. I knew this when I phoned the office. That's why I am a bit angry earlier. I suggest you call the admission office and check it out

Speaking as an ED student, they do email you with a list (I was missing SAT scores and a rec), but at least for me, I only ever received one email (a friend of mine said he got 2 or 3...) Call the office to be sure, but be aware that they may only check to see if your SAT scores are there; when I called back in Nov, the lady I spoke to couldn't/wouldn't check to see if my rec made it in...

Best of luck!

I did. They e-mailed me two weeks ago saying that my application misses transcript and ACT scores. Asked my counselor to fax all of the stuff and in a week my application was complete.

They mailed me that everything that should have been sent by my school is missing. I checked it with the post and it turned out that the post has lost it, even though it has been sent already in 2007. Very nice. Now it has hopefully been faxed, but the e-mail said that it is the only notification they will send, so I think I have to write them in a few days to check whether they received the fax.

I haven't gotten verification that my application has been received or is complete. Does this mean I am fine?

The same situation...
The AO said they keep sending those postcards until the week before the decisions are notified..
just wait...

Is it a good sign if you are asked for missing forms 3 weeks before the decision? You won't think they have time to check someone that they are not going to accept late.

It has nothing to do with whether you are likely to be accepted or not. As I mentioned in my post above, I got this notification even though they did not have ANY document from my school, no transcript, no grades, no recommendations. It is impossible that they have made their decision about my based solely on my application, test scores and my interview. Generally, unless you get a likely call/letter/e-mail, NOTHING is an indicator that you will be accepted/refused.

I got a postcard verifying that all my materials had been received.

Really? I didn't receive that :(

I got an email at the end of last week saying my recommendations were never received and they asked me to fax them in, which i promptly did.

email...ahhh.I don't have any notifications...

I also got a notification stating that they were missing part of my file last week (!).

I got an email, saying that they received nothing. My counselor (hopefully) faxed the missing documents, but I don't know if they received it. I called and asked, but the man just said: I don't know that, we get so many faxes. Ask your counselor if he got a confirmation that his fax was received. Well, my counselor is never there, so I have no clue. Also, the fax did certainly not include my PennID, which the e-mail said should be written on the fax. Great situation.
