I don't, this year at least. I have Shakespeare 1st period and APUSH 2nd, and those classes alone make the rest of the day worth bearing no matter what.

I used to miss 2+ days a week last year. And, yet, was able to keep up with all my work. My teachers even joked about it, "Oh, Michael's not here. He's taking his extra day for the weekend!"

We get to miss a certain amount of days per semester and sign out hours count. So...not so much anymore.

My school has that program. I've missed well over 20 days, which is the limit on how many we can miss. The program is a Pilot program, so they were only able to harass me via the mail about how I need to get to class. It was funny. With my schedule this year, there was another paper explaining the program. (I looked in my sisters, and even some friends - they didn't have the paper).

I hardly ever miss school this year. It's only 5 classes - It's stupid to skip.

i have. my mom is really lenient and so is my school. advantage of a small school i guess because for one we get out at 12:40 if ur a senior, and two u really only have to say 'oh i was sick" and they are like "ok"

"then they send somebody to the house"

OMG thats so funny HAHAH

Where do you live??

If I don't feel like going and its pretty rare that I actually have something of importance at school.

I wish! School has an iron fist; they take attendances for every period.
If you're absent, you have to go through hell to apply for leave of absence. You need to fill out a form, have letter from a parent/doctor, get your class teacher to sign it and get it approved by a discipline master.

If you're sick, you have to apply within 3 days with a letter from a parent or a week if you have a letter from your doctor. Any other reasons will rarely be entertained and rejected.

When you're absent, they minus marks off your conduct marks and if it falls below 60, they kick you out. An average day is worth 10.15 points and you don't have 100 to start with. It depends on how much your teachers would like to give to you.

By the end of the semester I usually have used up the maximum amount of absences (3) which I can have in a class I don't want to exempt.

I usually skip school to help study for a assignment for about 45 mins, then I spend the other 2 hours just relaxing from all the work.

Out of all my school years, from kindergarden to my 10th grade year, I only missed less than 3 days of school. I use my time wisely and so I never really need an extra day to work or study. Each day of school is too precious to miss.

At my school, parents just need to call in that morning and tell the attendance secretary what's up.

It's kind of funny, because on tough weeks, my entire AP physics C/AP Calc BC classes will rotate who's skipping that day (eg: Christina misses Monday, Katy misses Tuesday, Shelby misses Wednesday, I miss Thursday, Gabby misses Friday). I mean, it's not planned, but we're the kinds of kids who can miss a day here or there and not be in trouble.

I always stop caring towards the end of the school year. By then I've already done enough to get an A in my classes, so there will be days when I can't get myself out of bed and end up sleeping the day away. Of course, something interesting always happens at school on the days I skip.

I think its wrong to miss school to study or complete homework. If I miss school, it's either because I'm legitimately sick or I'm faking sick to avoid going to my incredibly boring first three bells. I can and do get straight As in the classes without trying in the least, so I don't think it's that bad for me to miss them.

i wish... at my school, 3 missed classes per quarter= complete loss of credit. this is a pretty terrible idea, cos it means you cant miss school, even if you are sick. i once was in the nurses office and a girl came in cos she had fainted during class. she didnt feel well that morning but didnt want to miss class.

My parents would NEVER let me do that.. i wish though sometimes school can be too overwhelming

lol, I've missed no school since Kindergarden, except for midday orthodontist appointments and school-related activities. So I can't skip school now, even if I wanted to, cuz people will know something's up.

theres a math teacher at my school who hasnt missed a day in 26 years.

I've done that. I usually do that once or twice a quarter, but it's only when I get ridiculously overwhelmed with things like college apps and homework.
