missing stuff?

my D is missing parent tax return 2008+ proof of citizenship, she is 100% positif she sent the tax return and i am 100% positive i sent the copy of the passport 2 weeks ago.. but this is not the problem. the problem is that i went to the website myself( my D is out of town) to found out myself that before March 2nd( monday) those items have to be in Columbia's office!( we are February 26!) ....why didn't they told us that before by mail or email? they know perfectly how to send likely letters to some applicants but apparently the "normal" people are not inform soon enough of missing material and for that reason they can be denied!! really the college process game is UNFAIR!! or is it just intentional???

ps: my D checked the site 2 days ago and no message was nowhere to be found!and she even called they said that they were missing the mid-year report, but nothing about the financial items!!(it could be intentional, more i think about!!!)

It could be intentional because they know a decision has been made already, and it wouldn't make a difference in the end whether the financial forms were in or not.

That is not meant to be an attack, it's just a possibility that you don't seem to have considered.
