Missing The Early Action Deadline?

What if you failed to send in all the required material to a school where you were applying early action, (November 1)?

Would you still be considered for regular decision or would they throw away your application or would they make you resend it?

I'm asking this question because I am worried that my teacher and counselor recommendations will somehow not make the Nov 1 early action deadline....if my teachers mailed it in (postmarked) before the deadline but it wasn't received till after the deadline, will they still review me?

The way it usually works, or so I have been told, is that some leeway is given for teacher/school things for EA Because of that tight window of time for early apps, if the time does go by and those things are still missing, and that can happen for any number of reasons, and it can happen with test scores and other things as well, your app will be moved for RD consideration. As to what the absolute last minute they can review and decide on an app for EA is, would vary from school to school and is not possible to say. as it is also possible individual exceptions are made.

Of course they wouldn’t just dump your app. They want you to apply! That’s why they spend hundreds of thousands of dollars on marketing.

cpt is correct. The school docs trickle in. If something is missing and the final drop dead deadline for them to get decisions in is fast approaching, they will contact you/your school. They aren’t your enemy. They are actually courting you: – if accepted, you don’t have to attend. Remember that.
