Missing transcripts...

I asked my high school to send transcripts in January. They supposedly sent them all, but McGill University and University of Michigan say they haven't received them... since the deadlines passed a month ago, will this hurt my application? Other colleges have received them, so I don't know what happened.

Pick up the phone, and call these two universities to find out if your file is complete. Sometimes they have everything, but that information hasn’t been updated in the online system.

If they haven’t received them at all, ask if you still have time to have them sent, and how they should be sent. Ask if they need paper copies, or if a fax or electronic transmission will do.

Several years back, when my S was in the transfer process … both of these schools were on his list.

McGill took eons to post receipt of his documents. So there is likely no problem there … just call them as happymom suggests.

UMich had a very cooperative transfer admissions staff, was happy to wait for needed info. Just contact them as well.

Many schools don’t even process their transfer applications until later than this. If you are just going by what shows online, it probably means very little at this early date.
