I need to fill out the non-filer's statement for a school that has a deadline of Feb. 15. My parents told me that I was supposed to get all of my W2s by Jan 31 but as of now, I only have 2 of the three. What should I do? Is there anyway I can "force" my former boss to send my W2 asap?

I would suggest that you make your best guess for the missing W-2. I've had the same problem with one of my S's employers. He made about $500 from this particular employer. Still waiting on the form, not in the mail today. For the purposes of financial aid forms, I know that my guess (including Federal withholding) won't be off by more than a few dollars. By law the employer must provide the forms by Jan. 31. My wife works for the federal gov't and didn't receive hers until Feb. 2. So much for the law.

The forms are often sent late. Use DS/DD final pay stub if you want accurate information. W-2, 1099 and other forms are supposed to be sent out by January 31 but there is actually no penalty to the employer/issuer until much later. Often a phone call will do the trick.
