Misspelled Name on Letter of Recommendation

So...one of the professors I asked for a letter of recommendation from misspelled my last name. He spelled it correctly the first two times, but then got it wrong the third time...which I assume means it's just a typo.

I wasn't supposed to read it, I know, I feel guilty, but I was there when he was stuffing the envelopes and I thought I saw something that looked like it might have been my last name misspelled. I should have, but unfortunately I didn't stop him then and there. One of my colleges requires only one letter and I had asked two professors, so I was able to open one of the envelopes without harm.

The letter's written well, but I'm afraid the misspelling will look bad. Is this a big deal? I don't see any other way besides just mailing them in and hoping admissions officers will acknowledge it was a simple mistake.

Bump bump bump

I’m sure it really doesn’t matter, especially if he spells it correctly other times in the letter. They either won’t notice or will just ignore it as a typo.

Okay, that’s what I was thinking. Thank you.

Finding the typo is your punishment for peeking. But probably no one will even notice. Nothing to worry about.

No problem, good luck!!
