Misspelled words

Wow I feel like an idiot.... I rushed to send in my application before the scholarship deadline and noticed I had like 5-6 misspelled words in my activity summary. They were stupid typos because I was trying to get the application in. Words like techniques i spelled techiques... spelled helicopter like heliocopter... and spelled management like managment.... I misspelled several others when I was listing out travel experience. Is there anything I can do or am I pretty much rejected? If I send in another copy of my activity summary through fax do you think they will look at it instead? Please give me advice. Thank you so much.

ouch, tough situation. If it's one or two typos, it's no biggie but once you get up to 5 and 6 it might become a problem. Then again they may overlook it.

I would send out another copy of your activity summary. As an explanation, you can say that you forgot to list an activity. In the unlikely event that they compare your two activity summaries, add one other small activity that you hadn't bothered to put down before.

You might also consider sending in an entirely new application, with a special note that you forgot to include something. They might switch the good app with the bad app, they might not.

Good luck.

I think you should call the admissions office and just ask one of the counselors what you should do.

I suppose it's worth a try, but it could become an awkward situation. Admission counselors aren't supposed to give anybody an extra advantage (and submitting a corrected application could qualify.) They might just end up telling him that his application is final. If you DO call, don't mention your name as to not draw attention to your application.

Ya, I agree with 'sfgiants' I think if you call you should maybe make it hypothetical like, "I think I may have mispelled a few words in my application..."

tell them you like to be multicultural, so you used the australian spelling of certain words.
