Mistake About UCLA Admissions: 25 Percent to 8.5 Percent

That is right.
According to UCLA only 4700ish Applicants were accepted out of 55K.
Do the math
4700/55000

=.085454545445

are you Serious… was last years admittance rate REALLY 25 percent?

Not everyone that is admitted will go to UCLA, so they give out more than 4700 acceptances.

Wrong. They accept way more than 4700.

Uh, no. They expect 4,700 to enroll. They admitted many more.

WRONG

they predict 4,700 people to matriculate and actually be in

12,000-13,000 will actually be offered admission

12k admitted, 4.7k will attend. think about it. 12k real smart people, 8k goes to stanford, cal, ivies, whatever. 4k on average will choose ucla. on average.

prolly a little over double the admitted students (12-13K ish?)

Yeah, that’s definitely not true.

NO!

There are 4,700 spots available. Those spots will be filled. To compensate for a little over half the admitted students choosing to go to other schools, they admit around 10-12k total, which works out to be ~21-22% admit rate (we’ll know the exact #s later).

But definitely NOT an 8.5% admit rate.

holy mother of God people jumped on this LOL. well we all have the same answer so there you go :P

this thread needs to be deleted.

the same mistake was made last year. stop freakin’ out, guys.

i think UC played around with the numbers, the 2007 number might be a total number of acceptance, including transfers. coz think about it, UCLA can’t possibly have 21000 freshman, that would mean around 84,000 people in the whole schoool!

You are WRONG.

:)

BOOHOO>
U guys are so mean…
I WANTED TO BE cool for once by haveing my own thread with actual ppl on it…
TEARtear

ok how do i delete this thread?? :stuck_out_tongue:
im horribly new to this CC experience

Epic fail!

We all make bad threads, its fine

I’ve never made a bad thread FYI.

it’s alright. This thread definitely got my attention :), by the way, I didn’t get into UCLA. Oh well.
