My child copied and pasted their common app essay and the fractions in the essay got turned into “?”. They didn’t see that the pdf continues and showed the essay and submitted without realizing. What are they chances they can still get in? They applied to Boston University
I also had a typo on one of my applications in the activities section and I freaked out. But, after doing a lot of research, admissions talked about how it just makes you seem more human. People make mistakes especially when we submit things online and they understand that. It might even be a reassurance to them that a highly paid college counselor didn’t submit it and your daughter who is a 17 or 18 year old did. Don’t stress over the little things and if you want, you can definitely send them a quick email mentioning what happened.
I wish her the best of luck!
This isn’t a huge deal. My own kid did this and got into a bunch of great schools, so don’t worry. Colleges understand that glitches happen.
In my daughter’s case, she emailed the AO at the EA school she had submitted to and explained that there had been a glitch when she uploaded from google docs. The AO was fine and said that a number of students had experienced the same and not to worry about it. She got into that college.
