Mistake in Real ACT Prep Guide?

<p>The book says that the slope formula is y^1 - y^2 over x^1 - x^2</p>

<p>Isn't the formula y^2 - y^1 over x^2 - x^1?</p>

<p>they’re the same thing.</p>

<p>It’s the exact thing, but make sure the order is right - for example, slope of (5,2) and (3,7)
(P.S. :imagine the underscores blank spaces… CC doesn’t let you take more then one space with a post)

<p>now if we switch the orders around</p>

<p>y-y__<strong><em>7-2</em></strong>__ 5
—<em>= ----- =</em><em>— = -2.5
x-x</em>_<strong><em>3-5</em></strong>
-2 </p>

<p>So as you can see, as long as you keep the same coordinates orders right, you’re fine.</p>
