Mistake in SAT Score

I finally looked at my SAT detailed score report for the March SAT. I held off on looking at it since I was so disappointed in the score. The major difference between this time and my first time was the writing section. My first time I got a 780 (perfect multiple choice and 8 essay). This time I got a 650 (68 multiple choice and 7 essay). Obviously I'm not a great essay writer, but it surprised me that I did so badly on the M/C. It turns out I got 2 wrong in the M/C and omitted 4. I NEVER omit. At least I don't think I omitted. The only possibility is that I accidentally skipped a page, which is highly unlikely. My experimental section was a writing section (idk if that may have to do with it). The score report says I omitted 2 medium and 2 hard questions. So what should I do? Do I just call college board and ask for a verification service?
Thanks

You may order a score verification service on your CB account and they will hand-score your MC’s (for about $50). If they made a mistake it will be corrected and you will be refunded. Even if you gridded the answers in the wrong place, there’s still a fair chance that they will be able to identify the mistake and correct your scores (but, in this case, you don’t get the refund).
However, keep in mind that this procedure takes a long time (probably months), so it may be better to take another test and even use the oppotunity to improve your essay.

I think that this exact same thing happened to me! I got a 660 with a 10 essay score, which is okay, but i was hoping to score higher… Strangely enough, the score report says that i omitted 4 answers just like you! I NEVER OMIT EITHER! It says that i omitted 2 medium and 2 difficult questions from improving sentences. How about you?!? Could this be a computer error, or did we maybe miss a page?

Same here mama123. It says I omitted 2 medium and 2 difficult from improving sentences. Was your experimental section also writing?
Anyone know if all the tests get graded at the same place?

No i believe my experimental was reading. Hopefully that’s not a bad thing…? Ah if this is fixed i’d have a 700! I might just pay the $50. I also do not think that I missed a whole page… Hmm…

I’m just gonna go ahead and pay the $50. I double checked that I filled in all the bubbles. And I’m not the careless type of person. I just called College Board, and they said that the verification service would take about 3-5 weeks.

okay i should get on that as well… best of luck to you!

anyone else want to weigh in on score verification? i would love to get the credit back for this “4 omitted” mistake (if it is a mistake) yet i don’t want to risk my verbal and math scores. also, how long after the test day can u ask for score verification?

bump…
