Mistake in sending subject test scores

Hello CC,

I submitted by Harvard application and I was skimmed over my sat 2 score report and I accidentally unchecked 1 of the 2 tests I took (Literature which was a 660), and only sent Math II (720). I didn’t self-report either score on my commonapp. Is it worth another 12 dollars to send this other score that I accidentally omitted?

No, it’s not worth it to pay an additional $12 to submit your SAT Literature score. My reasoning:

(a) SAT Subject tests are now optional; students can submit 2 SAT Subject tests, 1 SAT Subject test or absolutely no SAT Subject tests: https://college.harvard.edu/admissions/apply/application-process/sat-subject-tests

(b) Harvard, and other selective colleges, have certain expectations for applicants and one of those is for students to score 700+ on their SAT Subject tests. Submitting a score of 660 will NOT move your application forward, and it might actually make an AO question if you would have difficulty handling the reading and writing work load on campus.

IMHO, you did yourself a favor by not submitting the lower score. I would let it go.

@gibby Alright, thanks for helping me clear this up. My old college admissions book said they required 2 so I got a little freaked out.
