mistake, is it worth fixing it?

I think that on both of my FAFSA and PROFILE, I put down our house worth as around $50,000 more than it actually is. Is it worth fixing it now? Can I even fix it at this point?

Thanks in advance!!

You can certainly let the colleges know what your house is worth; it is especially important, though, to be able to back that up. FWIW, FAFSA does not factor in the value of the house you live in. PROFILE cannot be corrected by going back on line, so you will need to contact the individual schools.

If you'd realized this earlier, you would have needed to alert each college. But now, I think it's best to sit back and wait for the offers to roll in, and just try to talk to the FAO of the college that you pick.

I thought the price of your house was irrelivant. Just the prices of any others and investment properties counted.
