Just emailed my admission cons. for Berkeley but just want to hear your opinions.

I took two honor courses and failed both last year. I made those up with regular courses as honors was not offered for both courses when i retook them. The problem is that I forgot to list the failed classes as honors on my application.

I am a honest person and never had the intention to lie but I am afraid that it may come out as much when viewed by Berkeley.

Do you guys think I will be rescinded? I am so scared right now. I am totally kicking myself for failing to notify Berkeley of this fact earlier as I have done so for all of the other UC. I forgot about Berkeley because they were the only school that required faxing the info over.

By ‘honors’ do you mean classes under the TAP program for UCLA? Because if it were, your failing to mention that they were honors courses should not matter for Berkeley.

This doesn’t sound like a legitimate reason for Berkeley to rescind you.

Yes, I was refering to honor classes under the TAP program for UCLA.

The problem is that honor course show up as ‘Engl 1AH - Freshman Composition Honors’ while regular courses show up as ‘Engl 1A - Freshman Composition’ on my transcript. To make matter worse, my school just updated to a new software this year that won’t replace such grades automatically. Under the old system, the new grades would have replaced the old grades but the current system doesn’t have this capability. I just learned of this from my school so I got to petition for the change although my honors advisor will attach a note to the petition to make sure it goes through. Right now my transcript shows a 3.2 when in fact, after replacing those F, I’d have a 3.6.

Try and have those grades treated as though they’ve been repeated- talk to admissions/dean. Otherwise, it’ll be treated as two separate classes. How long was this ago? You can get it renewed. Anything that nulls it will be a good thing.

Ok, my couns. replied back to me and said that the update has been noted. I don’t dare to ask her what that means, LOL! Has been noted means its fine right? Or does that mean I am under review again…

i’ve been waiting to hear back from my admissions officer since i was accepted…and that’s because the update i sent them weeks ago didn’t show up in my conditions of admission :\ you’re lucky you got a response quickly lol, and i think it means it’s fine…

Is there anyway I can see the original application?.. for the language requirement i input my high school grades and i THINK i put that i received B’s in 3 years of spanish, but i think i got C’s lol… either way they just require a C or better, but you think if i actually did make that mistake, it would be grounds to rescind me?

i’m pretty sure you can, the same way you would have accessed it before, at least i was able to see my app for freshmen admission when i applied again later for transfer
