Should my daugher contact the (2) schools she has already submitted to if the GPA scale she reported is incorrect on the common app (scale is reported as 5.0 and should be 4.0)? Or, since schools will receive her trancript and recalculate using their own methods will it not even remotely matter? The two apps she has submitted are likely admits with good merit money at stake. Just wondering if she should give the admissions reps a heads up or leave it be. It won’t be a problem for futre applications but the two she has already submitted have the error.
It won’t matter one way or the other. She can certainly contact the schools, but it’s a common mistake, which all schools encounter every application cycle.
Self report GPA particularly in wGPA is not really useful anyway. The adcom has to look at the transcript for the actual grades.
