Mistake on common app

I just realized that my D failed to state the grade she received in a pre-college program in the "Writing" additional information section, as she was instructed to do. Since this program is sending an official transcript to her colleges, does she need to correct the omission on the Common App or should she let it go? If she needs to correct it, how should she do so?

Is it that your D has already submitted her application to this college, or is it that you’re looking to create a new version of the common application? If already submitted, I don’t think there’s a way to re-submit the application. The best way to correct the problem then is probably to email the admissions office directly.

It’s hard to advise whether correction would be necessary on an internet forum without knowing how the initial instruction was worded and how the school’s admission office works. For example, for something like the SAT, as long as a score is included in your official score report it’ll be included in your file at the admission office, but in this case, if this school in particular specifically asked you to list something on the common app, it may be problematic not to.

So if the transcript with the grade is in the file she shouldn’t have to worry, right?

Correct. The college will go by the transcript they receive.

Thank you!
