After submitting my CSU applications, I went back and saw I accidentally put my parents’ gross income where I should have put “untaxed income and benefits”, and I put the wrong number down for their adjusted gross income. Is this a big deal? Will it have an impact on me being accepted or rejected? Should I contact the admissions offices of each school and let them know of my mistake?
The schools will use the income information from the FASFA vs what you report on the application. No worries
@Gumbymom so even though the numbers are clearly wrong (i.e. The number I put for untaxed income and benefits is a higher number than adjusted gross income), it won’t affect my admissions?
Admissions does not have anything to do with your financial aid information. The financial aid office will rely on what you report on your FASFA not on the application. CSU’s are need blind so your financial status is not considered for admission decisions.
The application information is used for data collection purposes.
@Gumbymom OK, thank you. So I do not need to report it to admissions, I should just fill it out correctly when I submit my FASFA?
Yes
