Mistake on SF State application!!

SF state requires 1 year of an elective to be eligible for admission, and I just realized that after already submitting my application that I only put in 1 semester. So I emailed the admissions office and told them about my mistake and asked if I could input another semester and they told me that they are unable to make changes to the information on my application.

They also said that if there is any confusion regarding my self-reported information, they will request additional documentation (transcripts). But I’m worried that they will reject me automatically because I’m not eligible since I only put in 1 semester of any elective. Even though I emailed, should I still call the admissions office?

I have a 3.3 GPA and I got a 1160 on the new sat so I feel like my chances of getting in are decent, but I’m so worried that this one mistake is going to completely ruin my chances of getting accepted.

The application says you cannot make changes once you submit it, but you could call and inquire whether it is possible for them to add a note to your application explaining that you left off one semester of the requirement. Won’t hurt to try, especially since you are worried.

Contact SF State and update your ap to reflect the courses you took. I like a phone call because you get your answer immediately and, if they need proof to make the change, you can supply that right away instead of trading emails over a couple of days. I’d follow the phone call with a confirming email so, you have proof.

Good luck
